as seen on facebook

25 things I posted about me on facebook

1. I changed my major seven times at K-State and finally received two bachelors because I went for six years and had so many credits. One of the best things about K-State was joining Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.
2. This is going to be really hard for me, because I don't like talking about myself.
3. When my anger problem got me in trouble at work for a second time, I finally went to see a doctor and found out I have major depression. I now see that I had this in elementary school and wish I had gotten help back then.
4. I watch too much tv, spend too much time on the computer and not enough time exercising.
5. I wish I new what I wanted to be when I grow up. I guess that's why I have a hard time growing up.
6. I have a passion for teaching. I love to teach. I have to keep reminding myself of that fact with all the students I have who make it difficult to teach.
7. My third attempt at a master's degree finally resulted in earning one from OSU '08
8. I have a lot of habits that cause me grief: perfectionism, procrastinaton, workaholic, self-medication, self-esteem issues, etc.
9. This isn't really an unknown fact about me, but I love Mountain Dew.
10. My frirend Stacy says her favourite colour is purple. So is mine. It's been my favourite colour since I started at K-State. And yes Stacy, I have purple clothes. At KSU, there was even a professor famous for wearing a purple blazer. I'm not that extreme though.
11. Stacy, I also quote lines from movies randomly in conversation and people look at me like I'm crazy. I think it's hillarious. I also quote lines from commercials too. You're not the only one.
12. And Amber, the only thing better than teaching Algebra I is Algebra II. I miss it because this year I'm teaching Geometry. The year I learned the most was the year I taught Trigonomety.
13. Amber is just plain wrong. Dogs RULE. All cats should have to live with Alf. (yes the Alf from tv land that eats cats)
14. I have sabotaged too many great relationships and this is probably my biggest regret.
15. The prodigal son has nothing on me. I pray that this time, I will be a sheep that stays in the fold and doesn't wander off. I am so grateful that God goes looking for the lost sheep.
16. I would like to win the lottery, not just so I can pay off student loans and buy a house and give to my church, but so I can pimp my classroom. SmartBoard, sound system with wireless mic, and lots more. And it really wouldn't take that much money. I'd also keep teaching.
17. I consider myself shy and awkward especially around women. I've messed up so much in my life and made so many mistakes which keeps me from reaching out in order to prevent more mistakes and mess up again.
18. In February, I will have been atending Faith Church for a year. I have been really blessed by this church and the people I have met there. I attend Celebrate Recovery on Monday nights.
19. I really really miss Frank Barnhart. He was my best friend in high school at Glenpool High School. Frank was always there to cheer me up. I am not sure if he knew of his great influence on my life because he died in a motorcycle wreck our junior year. I struggled a lot with suicidal thoughts in high school and Frank was such a positive influence on my life.
20. If I could do high school all over again, I would try really hard to not make everything about me. I was so concerned with what people thought about me that it often paralyzed me with fear. I felt like I was the biggest geek ever and that everyone was making fun of me. Perhaps that is why I like Dilbert so much.
21. I eat too much and exercise too little. Who can resist hambugrers and fries, pizza, chocolate, etc? I have the appetite of a 16 year old, but the metabolism of a 42 year old who doesn't exercise enough.
22. I wish I was better at sports. Since I can't hit, throw, or catch it limits what I enjoy playing.
23. My first computer was a Commodore Vic 64. Ah the 80's!!!! My favorite job was teaching computer networking (Cisco Networking Academy) at Tulsa Technology Center.
24. One of the people I admire is Mr. Rice who was my teacher in high school for algebra I and II, geometry, chemistry and physics. We called him a walking encyclopedia because he was so smart. I guess this is where I got my inspiration for teaching.
25. Finally, I'm here. What to say? I try to donate food the to the hungry everyday at www.thehungersite.com and save the rainforest at www.therainforestsite.com.

more

I need to get thes on my mp3 player The Almost - "Say This Sooner", Matthew West - "More", Shawn McDonald - "Take My Hand", and Everyday Sunday - "Find Me Tonight".

I love that worship song "Your love is extravagant." Then the other day I was driving down the road on my way to work listening to Air1 radio when I heard an Everday Sunday song. I've heard this song many times before, but this time these lyrics really spoke to me:

"You speak without sound
Your love is so loud
You always save me".

When you really think about it, God does speak to us without sound. Can you hear Him? Have you heard about His love? If God could change my life, He can most definately change yours!

happy new year

I spent New Years Eve first at dinner for a friend of mine who turned 28. We took Jeff to Speedy's in Glenpool. Then I went to a nye party at my friend Amie's house. There I got to meet some of Amie's friends including Amber. She seems like a great person that I should get to know better.
