Thanksgiving
God is so good. Nobody really expected the family to get together since grandma died in May. Ever since I can remember, we've gone camping during the summer. And we didn't go once this year. It seems to me sometimes that my mom's sisters are more concerned about things than they are family. All but one of the sisters and both brothers gathered together for Thanksgiving dinner. It was great to have most of the grandkids there and all of the great-grandkids. I hope that our family can continue some traditions even without grandma.

alive vs living
I've really been thinking for about a week now about writing this post. I think for at least the last 6 months maybe longer I've been experiencing spiritually not being able to see the forest for all the trees. I'm not sure how to explain it. Sometimes I wonder why it is so hard to find something that is right there. My pastor has used that verse "laying hold of that which has laid hold of you" a lot in the past year. For me, I know God is there. I can feel His presence. I know that He has laid hold of me. I wonder, should I even be looking for God since He has already found me. And if I should, why does it seem like I can't find Him, especially when I know He's not hiding from me. It's perplexing definately and perhaps just a spiritual battle that I am facing. I wouldn't say I'm losing the battle because God is right there and I have the Holy Spirit, but at the same time I wouldn't say I'm winning either. Jars of Clay sing this song where there the lyrics go "I've got a question, where are you." That's not exactly my question. I know where God is, but finding Him has has been a little difficult. If you have read this far, I'd appreciate hearing from you with your comments.

Papermate Flair Quiz
Your Flair color is Plum! Plums are visionaries whose life's essence is one of spiritual consciousness and awareness. It is natural for you to express yourself. As a whole, you believe you're a strong and independent person and others tend to perceive you as a sensitive and observant. These qualities indeed make you as unique as you believe yourself to be.
You take the quiz!

The funeral.
Grandmother's funeral took place today at Floral Haven Cemetary in Tulsa. It was more of a celebration, as we both laughed and cried. Friends of the family have been so dear these past few days providing comfort, food for the family, and offering their prayers and support. My grandmother was 83. Where she is now, she will never have to walk with a crutch or braces. She'll never have to sit in a wheel chair and her right arm won't be in a sling anymore. She's in a better place prepared for her by God himself. Even though we will miss her very much, we can some day go to where she is. That will be some glad reunion day!!

She's gone.
Tonight my grandmother passed away. I've been crying ever since because I miss her very much. I appreciate all the prayers of my friends and the calls from Clydia, Ami, and Al.

Spring Break
Well, I've spent spring break moving most of the rest of the stuff to Afton. I've got a three bedroom house out in the country where I'm surrounded by a barn on one side and cows on the other two. One never realizes how much junk they can acquire until they have to move it all. I've made several trips to Goodwill already. I also realize as I post this that I need to update this blog a lot more often. Although Afton is not as big as Tulsa, I really like it. Especially since there is no rush hour traffic and no stop lights!! I come back to Tulsa most weekends though to visit the family and to attend Taylor and Austin's games. One weekend there were four games on Saturday and two on Sunday. From the looks of things Austin likes outdoor soccer better than indoor. We are trying to get him to eat more....he has to gain twenty pounds in order to "play football". I have no idea if Taylor likes basketball or soccer better. This summer would be a great time to make one of my wishes come true. I've wanted to visit Germany for awhile now and this summer the World Cup is taking place there. Well, I'm sitting here at Kafe Bona using their internet access and they about to close. More hopefully sooner than later.
