New Year's Eve

Here at my apartment complex, neighbors have already taken down their Christmas lights. What's up with that? What ever happened to waiting for the 12th night and Epiphany?

I got a hair cut today. Now I am cooking some goodies for my family's new year's eve party at grandma's house.

reflections

Sometimes when you watch TV you see yourself in the events your watching.

Dec 2, 2004 CBS-TV "Without a Trace" Episode entitled "Wannabe" featuring the music of David Berkelely from the album "After the Wrecking Ships"

The song "Fire Sign"

"Should have told me
Seeemed like an ordianry
Everything seemed to be okay
Did it hurt you
These are the scars you never show
She is a fire sign you know
One day you're near and then you go
Here is a photograph what do you see
There's nothing there but me
O in the aftermath it's hard to breathe
And harder to believe
They deceive you
There was a wall you had to find
The echoes in your mind
You surrender
And these are the lessons that you learn
Nobody hears, no one's concerned"

A lot to be thankful for...

I have a lot to be thankful for. I am especially thankful to God and His Son Jesus and my church and my best friend Clydia. At the top of my list are my mom and step dad; my sister, brother-in-law, nephew and neice; and of course my grandma, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Even though I am unemployed, I have more than enough reasons to be thankful and to have hope. I heard a song today that really touched me. Here's part of the lyrics:

"Live a life less ordinary, live a life extraordinary with me. Live a life less sedentary live a life evolutionary with me. Well I hate to be a bother but it's you and there's no other I do believe. You can call me naive, but I know me very well, at least as far as I can tell and I know what I need." -life less ordinary by: carbon leaf

I also heard of a book I'd like to read: Shine: A Powerful 4-Step Plan for Becoming a Star in Anything You Do By Larry Thompson

I was inititated into Phi Kappa Phi honor society on April 15. Finished up the spring semester with a 4.0. Now I am in summer school for the month of June. My last day at Tulsa Technology Center was on May 29th. It was a sad day for me because I didn't think that I had accomplished as much as I had set out to do. I will also miss the students that I've had the opportunity to work with. Right now I am sending out resumes, looking for a new teaching position.

"The Passion of the Christ" was a very vivid movie. I cried during most of it. I am so thankful that Jesus has paid my sin debt because I know I couldn't.

Today I got to visit the capitol in Oklahoma City. I had never been inside and now that the capitol has a new dome, I must saw I was very impressed. It's stunning. Today was APOE day at the capitol and I got to meet many of the state senators and representatives on the repsecitve education committees. We had lunch at the OKC Art Museum Cafe and then headed into the museum for the traveling George Washington exhibit. We ended our day by touring the Oklahoma City Memorial Museum. I had to fight back tears most of the tour.

I'm on spring break this week. Although I was sick all of Saturday and Sunday, I did manage to finally "enjoy" some of it on Monday.

The movie "The Passion of the Christ" will be in theaters starting February 25, 2004. For theater listing go here.
